These were just perfect with the maps being very visible and finish of the coaster being very well done. The shipping was very quick and the coasters exceeded my expectations. They are large enough to accommodate a big tumbler but not too big to be cumbersome. Great shop and I will be looking for new map locations!

Academic turned (Map)Maker

After finishing grad school with my Masters & PhD in Geography (specializing in cartography), I craved a new creative outlet that combined my love for maps with my bent for design and thrill for antiquing and repurposing goods. Thus was born All Mapped Out in March of 2012.

Deep down, everyone loves maps, because everyone has a strong sense of place - a connection to somewhere they lived, loved, traveled, got lost in, or simply had a moment. I salvage 'outdated' and vintage maps that may no longer suffice as up-to-date navigational tools, but can still serve as artistic and historic reminders to your connection to a place.

Each coaster set is made using the actual map, not a scanned color copy, so that each piece is one-of-a-kind (unless I happen upon another copy of the same vintage source). The map genealogy is featured - handwritten on the back of the coaster - so you know where and when the map came from.

Care instructions

Coasters are not dishwasher safe. Clean by wiping with a damp cloth. Coasters are intended for use with cold items; do not use them as a hot plate as items may stick to the sealed surface and dull the finish.
